Ubisoft は Game File に対し、実写 Driver シリーズの適応の中止を正式に発表しました。 当初、2021 年に Binge.com での独占ストリーミングが予定されていたこのプロジェクトは、ゲーム フランチャイズを新しいメディアに拡大するという Ubisoft の広範な取り組みの一環でした。 Ubisoft Film & Television の責任者、Danielle Kreinik が述べたように、目標は「新しくエキサイティングな方法でゲームに命を吹き込み、ゲームの世界、文化、コミュニティを舞台にしたコンテンツを作成すること」です。
映画関連子会社であるホットロッド・タナーLLC（ドライバーの主人公にちなんで名付けられた）が1月に閉鎖されたため、コラボレーションは終了した。 Ubisoft の広報担当者は Game File に対し、「ドライバー シリーズに関して Binge とのパートナーシップを進めることはもうありません。」と認めました。
ただし、Ubisoft は他の Driver プロジェクトの開発が継続していることをファンに保証します。 同社は「フランチャイズに関連する他のエキサイティングなプロジェクトに積極的に取り組んでいる」と述べ、今後の発表を約束している。 具体的な詳細はまだ明らかにされていないため、ドライバーの今後の続報にご期待ください!
