According to Thalia Piedra, Sega of America's Associate PR Manager, the game will launch with 23 characters, with more to be added post-launch. The reveal trailer showcased iconic characters from the Sonic franchise including Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, and characters from Sonic Riders like Jet, Wave, and Storm. Additionally, members of the Deadly Six such as Zavok and Zazz, Team Dark's Shadow, Rouge, and E-123 Omega, Dr. Eggman and his creations Egg Pawn and Metal Sonic, the Chaotix with Vector, Charmy, and Espio, and other favorites like Blaze, Silver, Cream, and Big are all part of the lineup.
