Nightmare Crownless is a thrilling addition to Wuthering Waves as a new Nightmare version of Overlord-class Echoes. This formidable foe brings enhanced Havoc DMG and Basic Attack DMG, making it an essential choice for players looking to boost their favorite characters' performance.

To access Nightmare Crownless, you'll need to farm it from its designated overworld spawn point. But before you can engage in this epic battle, completing the Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest and an additional step is necessary. Here’s a detailed guide on unlocking Nightmare Crownless.

Ruins Where Shadows Roam Quest Guide

The Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest is a unique challenge in Wuthering Waves, distinct from typical quests initiated by NPCs or interactable objects. To start this quest, navigate to the Exploration Progress menu in the Penitent's End region of Rinascita. Access this by opening your map and selecting the compass icon located in the upper-left corner, next to your current location's name.

This quest is closely linked with the Quest of Faith, which requires you to defeat four enemies in designated spots within Penitent's End. Begin by heading to the Resonance Beacon near the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent. Interact with the prompt near the circular arena by the beacon to initiate a battle against a Questless Knight, reminiscent of those encountered in the Silver Moon? Crimson Moon? quest.

To triumph over these knights, strategically position them near a lit Macabre Torch within the arena. You can relight these torches by luring Fae Ignis enemies to strike them. Be cautious not to extinguish the torches with powerful skills during the fight.

How to Unlock Nightmare Crownless in WuWa

Once you've successfully completed both the Ruins Where Shadows Roam and Quest of Faith, the next step involves locating all four Dream Patrols scattered across Penitent's End. Although completing these challenges is optional, doing so will reward you with additional resources and Monnaie in WuWa. Refer to the image above for the exact locations of these Dream Patrols. After discovering all the patrols, Nightmare Crownless will appear on your map, situated in the ruins north of Penitent's End.

Keep in mind that battling Nightmare Echoes requires the use of Enhanced Absorption charges, which greatly enhance the Echo drop rate. You're allocated 15 of these charges weekly, so it's wise to manage them carefully if you're aiming to enhance multiple characters.
