Midjiwan has unleashed a massive update for The Battle of Polytopia: a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe! This significant rework revitalizes the game's first special tribe, originally introduced in 2017.

Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation

The Aquarion have received a dramatic makeover. Their land units now boast mermaid tails, making them either fully aquatic or amphibious. This allows for effortless water traversal, although land movement is slower. A key addition is flooded terrain, enabling land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.

The aquatic theme extends to their buildings. Construction on water is now possible, and Lost Cities are hidden within deep-sea ruins, providing ideal strategic bases for seafaring warfare. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops, a permanent addition to the Aquarion arsenal, function similarly to land-based crops.

New aquatic creatures add depth to the gameplay. Sharks ambush unsuspecting units, puffers provide long-range bombardment, and jellies deliver electric shocks. Fan favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, return with enhanced capabilities; crabs now flood the tiles they cross, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid-tailed troops. See them in action!
