For individuals with diabetes looking to monitor their glucose levels effectively, the FreeStyle LibreLink app offers a seamless solution when used in conjunction with the FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensors. With this app, you can easily check your glucose levels by scanning the sensor with your smartphone. Specifically, if you're using the FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensor, you can enjoy the convenience of automatic glucose readings updated every minute, along with alerts for low or high glucose levels. [1] [2]

The FreeStyle LibreLink app provides a variety of useful features to help manage your diabetes:

  • View your current glucose level, trend arrow, and historical glucose data
  • Receive low or high glucose alarms when using the FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensors [2]
  • Add notes to track your food intake, insulin usage, and exercise
  • Access reports such as Time in Range and Daily Patterns
  • Share your data with your healthcare provider and family members, with your consent [3]

Compatibility with Smartphones

The compatibility of the FreeStyle LibreLink app with smartphones may vary based on the device and its operating system. For detailed information on compatible phones, please visit FreeStyleLibre.com.

Using the App and the Reader with the Same Sensor

It's important to note that alarms can only be issued on either the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or your smartphone, but not simultaneously on both. To receive alarms on your smartphone, you must start the sensor using the app. Conversely, to receive alarms on the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader, you should start the sensor with the reader. Once started with the reader, you can still scan the sensor with your smartphone.

Remember, the app and the reader do not share data. To ensure you have complete data on a device, it's recommended to scan the sensor with the respective device every 8 hours. Otherwise, your reports may not reflect all the data collected. You can upload and view data from all your devices at LibreView.com.
