If you're looking to enhance your PlayStation 2 (PS2) gaming experience on a 64-bit architecture, using the right plugins is essential. The ARMv8-A architecture marks a significant evolution in ARM processors, introducing the 64-bit "AArch64" architecture and the "A64" instruction set. This new architecture maintains compatibility with the 32-bit "AArch32" / ARMv7-A and the "A32" instruction set, while the 16-32 bit Thumb instruction set, known as "T32," does not have a 64-bit counterpart. ARMv8-A also supports running 32-bit applications on a 64-bit OS and allows a 32-bit OS to run under a 64-bit hypervisor. ARM unveiled their Cortex-A53 and Cortex-A57 cores, which are compatible with ARMv8-A, on October 30, 2012. Apple pioneered the use of an ARMv8-A compatible core, named Cyclone, in a consumer product.
