This app, developed in collaboration with Safe Toddles (https://www.safetoddles.org/), a non-profit dedicated to improving mobility for visually impaired children, provides interactive lessons to enhance walking and orientation skills. The program utilizes the Pediatric Belt Cane, also developed by Safe Toddles, and incorporates a wearable IMU sensor.
The app's lesson structure encourages active participation and feedback through assessment questionnaires. Data from the IMU sensor, attached to the cane, is analyzed by an AI module to assess the child's developmental walking age. This assessment drives the app's personalized lesson plan, adapting to the individual child's progress and needs.
