007 ファーストライト』ジェームズ・ボンド青年期キャスト決定、レニー・ジェームズが共演

最近のPlayStation State of Play放送により、『ヒットマン』の開発元IO Interactiveによる次期ジェームズ・ボンド作品『007 First Light』が2026年に発売予定であることを初めて実質的に確認できました。
公開されたシネマティックトレイラーでは、若く初々しいジェームズ・ボンドがスパイとしてのキャリアの幕開けを迎える様子が描かれています。
同トレイラーでは『ウォーキング・デッド』で知られるレニー・ジェームズの参加も確認され、別の役柄を演じることが明らかになりました。
『007 First Light』のトレイラーによれば、今作のジェームズ・ボンドはわずか11歳の時に山岳事故で両親の死を目撃。両親は彼を救うため自ら命綱を切断し、ボンドは単身で下山を果たしたことが示されています。
IO Interactiveのジェームズ・ボンドプロジェクトは2020年に『Project 007』という名称で初発表されて以来、情報は限られていました。しかし当初より、IOは既存の映画シリーズに依存しない独自のボンド起源物語を構築すると表明していました。
最近ではIO InteractiveのCEOハカン・アブラクが、『007 First Light』が新たなゲーム三部作の始まりとなることを期待していると述べています。残念ながら、同スタジオの人気シリーズ『ヒットマン』は本作の開発に注力するため一時休止中です。また4月には、PC、PlayStation、Xboxに加えてNintendo Switch 2への展開も判明しています。
