"Assassin's Creed Games Ranked: A Tier List"
Ubisoft's latest addition to its renowned stealth-action open-world series, Assassin's Creed Shadows, has arrived, sparking discussions on where it stands among its predecessors. Since its inception in 2007 with Desmond Miles' journey into the Animus as Altaïr, the franchise has evolved significantly, culminating now in the 16th-century Japan setting with protagonists Naoe and Yasuke. As the 14th installment in the mainline series, Assassin's Creed Shadows invites fans to reflect on the entire saga's journey and rank their favorites.
Personally, I've crafted a tier list based on my enjoyment of each game, which you can view below:

For me, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remains the pinnacle of the series, earning its place in the S-tier. Its blend of island exploration, thrilling ship combat, and a vibrant cast of characters delivers the quintessential Assassin's Creed experience. Sharing the S-tier is Assassin’s Creed 2, which truly elevated the series' profile with its compelling narrative and engaging gameplay. In the A-tier, I've placed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which, despite its length, captivated me with its Viking-themed combat and the delightful Orlog minigame. Alongside it, Assassin’s Creed Unity stands out for its breathtaking recreation of Paris during the French Revolution, even a decade after its release.
Do you disagree with my rankings? Perhaps you find Valhalla too expansive or consider Assassin’s Creed 2 to be overrated? Now's your chance to weigh in! Create your own tier list below and see how your rankings compare with the IGN community's views on the S, A, B, C, and D tiers.
