Ubisoft has unveiled its exciting roadmap for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising a plethora of new features, including new game+, enhanced difficulty settings, additional story content, and much more. This comprehensive plan aims to enrich the gaming experience and keep players engaged throughout 2025.

In a detailed four-and-a-half-minute roadmap update video released today, Ubisoft outlines its schedule for the upcoming months, focusing particularly on May and June. The video, while brief, is packed with valuable insights into how the team behind the latest installment in the stealth-action series intends to maintain player interest with regular free updates throughout the year.

The first of these free updates, titled The Works of Luis Frois, is set to launch in early May. This story add-on will be accompanied by a Codex update and several quality-of-life improvements. Additionally, players can look forward to significant enhancements in parkour mechanics and an updated photo mode arriving next month. Ubisoft emphasizes that these updates are a direct result of listening to the community's feedback and are part of a broader effort to continuously improve Assassin’s Creed Shadows based on player input.

Community developer Daniel St. Germain emphasized the importance of player feedback in today’s video, stating, “Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released. Regular title updates are coming, each with impactful additions – and changes – based on your feedback and requests, with some bug fixes to continue refining the experience across all platforms.”

In June, players can expect another free story drop alongside new difficulty settings, options to enhance gameplay immersion, an open-world alarm system, and the ability to toggle headgear visibility during cutscenes. These updates are eagerly anticipated by the community, but Ubisoft has more in store, including new game+ support, further story expansions, special collaborations, and other features set to roll out before the end of the year.

The highlight of the post-launch content is the first major DLC expansion, Claws of Awaji, scheduled for release later in the year. This expansion will introduce new content such as the Bo staff weapon and a new region for protagonists Naoe and Yasuke to explore over a 10-hour journey. While pricing details are yet to be disclosed, those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its launch last month will receive this expansion for free.
