Details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows have emerged following an alleged leak of an artbook, surprisingly discovered on a hentai website, among other locations.

The artbook, titled "The Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows," circulated rapidly across the internet after its discovery on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours. Containing hundreds of pages of concept art, quotes, and development information, it offers a substantial glimpse into the next Assassin's Creed title. The origin of the leak, however, is unusual, adding an unexpected layer to the story. IGN has reached out to Ubisoft for comment.

While the original source has removed the gallery, archived versions are readily available on various file-sharing platforms and image boards.

The leaked art showcases concepts for renowned historical figures, major cities, and a diverse range of weaponry. The artwork also appears to reveal potential plot spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows, although confirmation awaits the game's official release. However, the authenticity of the leaked images appears credible.

The leak comes shortly before Assassin's Creed Shadows' revised launch date of March 20, 2025, following a delay from its initial 2024 release window. The game was pushed back to February before settling on its current March release.

At a recent preview event, IGN spoke with game director Charles Benoit, who clarified that the month-long delay primarily focused on polishing the game. He confirmed that no major systems were altered, but minor adjustments were made to enhance engagement and balance. A key area of focus was refining the parkour system, which presented unique challenges due to the complexities of Feudal Japan's architecture.

Benoit explained, "The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex," He continued, stating that it was "probably the most complex thing that I ever worked with if we compared to Odyssey and Syndicate." The team implemented specific code and animations to ensure fluid parkour movement, addressing player feedback and significantly improving the system in recent months.
