Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments, renowned for the Sniper Elite series, ventures into new territory with Atomfall, a first-person survival game set in an alternate 1960s England devastated by nuclear war. A recent seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a detailed look at this intriguing title, initially showcased at Xbox's Summer Game Fest.
The trailer establishes a post-nuclear landscape reminiscent of Fallout and STALKER, where players explore quarantined zones, desolate villages, and abandoned research bunkers. Survival hinges on resource scavenging, crafting essential items, and facing off against hostile robots and cultists.
Combat blends melee and ranged encounters, utilizing a range of weapons – from a cricket bat to shotguns and bolt-action rifles – all subject to upgrades. Crafting extends beyond weapons to include healing items and tactical tools like Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials. Players can also enhance their capabilities through unlockable skills categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning.
Initially revealed alongside high-profile titles like Gears of War: E-Day and Perfect Dark, Atomfall still managed to capture attention, particularly with its day-one inclusion in Xbox Game Pass. This latest trailer, released just months before the March 27th launch, significantly increases anticipation. The game will be available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms.
