Court Augur: This Background comes with a tragic past where your character, after experiencing visions and the failure of village crops, was suspected of witchcraft and forced to flee to Highcrown. Here, the emperor recognized your mystical talents and appointed you as his personal mystic. Court Augurs are spiritually attuned, with dialogue options that resonate with magic and the divine, making them ideal for players interested in a wizard role and a strong connection with the companion Giatta.

Noble Scion: Born into a family of wealth, influence, and questionable morals, the Noble Scion's life unraveled due to scandal and family disputes. Vanguard Scout: Originally facing execution, the Vanguard Scout was spared by the empire and prefers the wilderness over urban life and politics. Every Background’s Starting Weapon in Avowed

Each Background in *Avowed* comes with a starting weapon, though these are of Common Quality and are one-handed melee items. As you progress through the game, you'll need to upgrade or replace these weapons.
