Bandai Namco is gearing up to bring the beloved Digimon franchise to mobile devices once again with the launch of Digimon Alysion, a digital adaptation of the Digimon Card Game. This exciting new game will be available on both Android and iOS platforms as a free-to-play title, although an exact release date has yet to be announced.

The official announcement came during Digimon Con 2025 on March 19th, where Bandai Namco also shared other thrilling updates. Fans can look forward to a new arc in Digimon Liberator set to begin in April 2025. Additionally, a special video was released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime, alongside the reveal of a new project titled Digimon Adventure: Beyond. The company is also developing a new RPG, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, for consoles and PC.

Digimon Alysion: More Than Just a Card Game

It’s important to note that Digimon Alysion isn’t merely a digital version of the physical Digimon Card Game. The game introduces a unique feature called ‘DigiAly’ cards, which are exclusive to this digital version, alongside the original cards. Bandai Namco is also expanding the universe with new Digimon and characters.

The character lineup showcased on the game's website features an all-female cast, which is an unconventional choice for a digital card game. This direction has sparked some skepticism among fans, particularly those who were expecting a more faithful adaptation of the physical game.

This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into the Digimon mobile gaming space. Unfortunately, their previous attempts have not met with great success, leading to cautious optimism about the potential of Digimon Alysion. Despite this, many are eagerly awaiting its release.
