MercurySteam, a studio comprised of former Rebel Act Studios developers (creators of the iconic 2001 title, Severance: Blade of Darkness), brings us Blades of Fire. Severance's groundbreaking limb-severing combat system, a hallmark of brutal realism, served as a major inspiration for this new project.
However, Blades of Fire also draws inspiration from modern action-adventure giants. The cinematic combat and richly detailed world of the rebooted God of War (Santa Monica Studio) significantly influenced the game's design. The result is a fast-paced action game infused with RPG elements, promising an immersive and captivating experience.
A key feature of Blades of Fire is its innovative weapon crafting system. Players forge their own blades, meticulously customizing length, weight, durability, and balance to perfectly match their preferred fighting style.
The game follows the warrior Aran de Lira as he confronts a formidable queen with the power to turn metal to stone. Aran's journey will pit him against 50 distinct enemy types, each demanding a unique tactical approach.
