Treyarch is developing a much-requested in-game challenge tracker for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This feature, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6's initial release, much to the disappointment of players.

While a release date remains unannounced, the upcoming Season 2 update later this month hints at a potential near-future implementation. This news follows a recent January 9th update addressing various bug fixes in both Multiplayer and Zombies modes. The update notably reversed a controversial Zombies change from January 3rd, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics in Directed Mode after significant player feedback.

Challenge Tracking on the Horizon

Treyarch confirmed the challenge tracking feature's development via Twitter, responding directly to a fan inquiry. The functionality, mirroring Modern Warfare 3's system, will allow players to monitor progress towards challenge completion (such as Mastery camos) in real-time within the game's UI, eliminating the need to wait until match completion for updates. This is a significant improvement for players actively pursuing in-game objectives.

Further Developments for Black Ops 6

In addition to the challenge tracker, Treyarch confirmed another highly anticipated feature is under development: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes. This will allow players to customize their HUD for each game mode without needing to constantly switch settings. Both features are currently under development with no confirmed release date, but their inclusion in future updates is highly likely.
