Capcom Rekindles Dino Crisis Franchise with New Trademark

Capcom has recently taken a significant step that has stirred excitement among fans of the Dino Crisis series by filing an application to register the Dino Crisis trademark in Japan. This move, now publicly available, indicates that the company might be preparing to breathe new life into this beloved franchise. Although this action doesn't confirm the development of a new game, it certainly hints at Capcom's interest in exploring future projects linked to the series.
By securing the Dino Crisis trademark, Capcom could be setting the stage for exciting developments, including a possible remake of the classic dinosaur survival horror series. Originally launched in 1999 on the PlayStation 1 under the creative vision of Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil, Dino Crisis quickly captivated gamers. The franchise saw two sequels, but after the release of the third game in 2003, the series went dormant, leaving fans longing for more.

These speculations are not without foundation. Last year, Capcom expressed its commitment to "revitalize older franchises that haven’t seen new releases in recent years." This statement followed closely on the heels of announcements for the Okami Sequel and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Moreover, a fan-driven poll conducted by Capcom in the summer of 2024 saw Dino Crisis topping the "most desired continuation" category, further amplifying the anticipation for its potential comeback.
