The Sunkissed Shores event arrives in Pokémon GO on August 25, running from 10:00 AM until August 31, 2025, at 8:00 PM. This week-long event introduces Dondozo, the Big Catfish Pokémon from the Paldea region.

Dondozo makes its mobile game debut!

Dondozo is a massive fish Pokémon with a light blue back, dark blue midsection, and a white upper lip, belly, and fins. A Water-type Pokémon, Dondozo is known for following Tatsugiri, has a huge appetite, and is weak to Grass and Electric-type moves. It does not evolve.

Throughout the Sunkissed Shores event in Pokémon GO, you can find Dondozo in the wild and in three-star raids. While participating in raids, you'll also earn double XP for each victory.

Wild encounters for the event feature a beach-themed lineup. Expect to see increased appearances of Psyduck, Shellder, Marill, Shuckle, Wingull, Tepig, Helioptile, Bounsweet, Sandygast, and Lechonk.

Oricorio also plays a major part. The Baile Style Oricorio will appear in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Pom-Pom Style Oricorio is found in the Americas. Pa’u Style Oricorio spawns on African, Asian, Pacific, and Caribbean islands. Sensu Style Oricorio can be encountered in the Asia-Pacific region.

Additionally, region-specific Tatsugiri forms will appear in raids. The Curly Form is available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The Droopy Form appears in the Americas, and the Stretchy Form is located in the Asia-Pacific region. Three-star raids will feature Alolan Raichu, Alolan Marowak, and the newly added Dondozo.

The Sunkissed Shores event follows the Dark Skies event in Pokémon GO, which runs from August 18 to August 23 and focuses on Dynamax Pokémon in Max Battles. With so much activity in the coming weeks, now is a great time to download the game from the Google Play Store if you haven't already.
