While many *Monster Hunter Wilds* achievements focus on epic hunts, one celebrates the smallest creature: the Sandstar. This guide explains how to unlock the elusive "I Caught a Shooting Star" trophy/achievement.

This hidden trophy is deceptively simple but easily missed. Your goal: capture the Sandstar, a tiny desert mouse-like endemic life found only at night in the Windward Plains.

Since the Windward Plains are usually explored during the day, you’ll need to advance the time to nightfall. Two methods work:

Fast Travel: Once you've unlocked multiple fast travel points in the Windward Plains, repeatedly travel between them. This will gradually advance the in-game time until night falls.

Rest: After completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content, use your Guild Points to rest at a camp. Select "Nighttime" to instantly set the time.

The Sandstar is tiny and fast, even for your Seikret. Consider gathering Screamer Pods beforehand. These can be obtained from Baunos, small winged monsters found in groups around Areas 11 and 13 of the Windward Plains (they often scavenge near carcasses). While not essential, Screamer Pods greatly simplify the capture.

Once night falls, search the area between Areas 11 and 13. When you spot the Sandstar, chase it at full speed. Use a Screamer Pod to stun it, then quickly switch to your Capture Net and snag it. The "I Caught a Shooting Star!" trophy/achievement will unlock, rewarding you with the "Ribbon Dream: Amber" nameplate.
