Unlike the Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises, Project Hadar is set in a completely original CD Projekt Red universe. While details are limited (excluding confirmation that it's not a space horror), the project's recent expansion from a small team of twenty to a larger workforce, actively recruiting programmers, VFX artists, technical artists, writers, and mission designers, suggests a significant shift towards full production. The "once-in-a-lifetime" descriptions from leading developers further reinforce this.

Currently, CD Projekt Red is managing multiple projects concurrently. The largest team is focused on Project Polaris, the initial installment in the new Witcher trilogy featuring Ciri. Additional teams are dedicated to a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel and another title within the Witcher universe.
