How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era

Initially, you're a Soul Spirit, essentially deceased. To become a Shinigami, accept the first quest offered by the NPC, Hurt Shinigami. This is a one-way street; once you embrace the path of the Shinigami, you can't revert to playing as a Hollow (unless you become a Visored, which we'll cover later). If a Hollow path is your preference, consult our dedicated Hollow progression guide.

The initial choice between Shinigami and Hollow is time-sensitive. Choosing Hollow requires breaking your chain; if you select Shinigami, the chain breaks slowly (one section every two minutes). If you wait too long, the chain will break, forcing you to become a Hollow. In that case, our resurrection moves list for Hollows will be your endgame resource.

Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide

Your first mission: purify 6 Lost Souls. Shinigami maintain balance by purifying Lost Souls and defeating Hollows. Afterwards, accept the next quest from the NPC near Hurt Shinigami (to the right). This involves delivering a letter to a doctor near the hospital.

Early quests are perfect for learning your abilities. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random power sword from a Urakara shop. For efficient travel across the large map, use the bus stop ($200 teleport) or purchase infinite fast travel (149 Robux) from the in-game shop. Subsequent quests are marked with a red crosshair. Expect diverse tasks: repeatable quests, progression quests, and quests related to paths like Vizard and Airwalk (level 15).

Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu

Strategic skill point allocation maximizes your Reiatsu. The Reiatsu Skill Tree offers powerful Kido abilities (exclusive to Shinigami). Kido nodes boost Kido damage, while Reiatsu nodes increase your maximum Reiatsu. Here are some key Kido abilities:

• Caja Negacion: A lightning beam. Combine with Electric for area-of-effect damage.
• Shakkaho: An explosive energy ball. Ragdoll adds knockback; Fire adds burning.
• Chain Bind: Energy chains pull enemies closer.
• Prison of Light: Immobilizes enemies with light rods.
• Thunder Sear: A slow-moving lightning ball that explodes on contact.

How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era

Reach level 15 to unlock Shikai training with Urihiro. Defeat Urahara Kisuke to obtain Shikai powers (1700 exp reward).

Note: This fight is challenging at level 15. Consider grinding to level 25+ for an easier victory. Unlocking Shikai grants a random powerful ability to your weapon, re-rollable at the Urahara Shop. Activate Shikai (default Y) when your Rage Bar is full. It ends when Reiatsu is depleted or you release the Y key.

Hollow Era Shikai Mastering

Shikai Mastery increases with Mastery Points earned by using Shikai. Higher Mastery levels reduce Rage consumption and grant aura effects:

• Level 1 (1-149 Points): Transparent Aura
• Level 2 (150-299 Points): Brighter, particle-filled aura
• Level 3 (300-499 Points): Lightning boost
• Level 4 (500+ Points): Flying stones aura

Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era

Reach level 50 to unlock the Visored quest at the Vizard Warehouse. Vizards blend Shinigami and Hollow powers. You'll need Hogyoku (1% drop rate from the King of Hueco Mundo boss) to break the barriers between Hollow and Shinigami. After obtaining Hogyoku, obtain the Vizard fighting style.

Hollow Era Visored Mastering

Visored perks include Mask Control (reduces Hollow control chance) and the Visored node (extends mask usage time, boosting damage).

Visored Abilities in Hollow Era

• Hollow Mask: Activate your Hollow powers.
• Cero: A powerful Reiatsu beam.
• Final Cero: A devastating overhead Cero.
• Vasto Rage: Unleash your full Hollow potential (limited time).

What About Hollow Era Bankai?
