Three years after the launch of It Takes Two, Hazelight Studios released a substantial update for their acclaimed cooperative adventure in May. A comprehensive list of changes was shared on Steam. A noteworthy aspect of this update is its focus on the Steam community; the game is now completely independent of the EA launcher and fully compatible with Steam Deck.

Steam integration allows for seamless gameplay with Steam friends through direct invitations, and Steam Family Sharing is now fully supported. While an EA account is still required to connect to EA servers for online play, local play via Steam Remote Play no longer necessitates an EA account.
