Mastering Gem Crafting in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Gems are crucial in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, providing significant battlefield advantages. This guide details how to acquire and craft these powerful items.

Unlocking Gem Crafting:

Initially, gem crafting is unavailable. After joining Liu Bei's Volunteer Army in Chapter 1, visit an inn to receive a letter from Zhang Fei. This letter introduces Gems and their raw material: Pyroxene.

Acquiring Pyroxene:

Pyroxene is found throughout the game world as large, jewel-like formations. These spawn randomly, so explore the overworld between battles. Additional Pyroxene can be obtained by completing side quests, collecting Old Coins, and reading letters at inns.

Crafting Gems:

Once you've gathered Pyroxene, return to an inn to initiate crafting. The process is randomized; the number of Pyroxene used doesn't affect the outcome. However, a white glowing aura around a gem type in the crafting menu indicates that only gems of that specific type can be created during that crafting session.

Gem Leveling:

Repeatedly crafting a specific gem type increases its effectiveness. These enhancements are primarily buffs. Since only one gem can be equipped at a time early in the game, strategic selection is vital. For instance, the Wellspring Gem is ideal for large-scale battles, while the Ascendence Gem shines in officer duels. While initially minor, these buffs become increasingly impactful over time.
