Days Gone Remastered: Enhanced PS5 Experience with New Modes and Features

Bend Studio's post-apocalyptic adventure, Days Gone, is getting a remastered release for the PlayStation 5, boasting a range of exciting new features and enhancements. Announced during Sony's February 2025 State of Play, the upgrade includes VRR and PS5 Pro support, significantly improving the visual fidelity and performance.

Beyond graphical improvements, Days Gone Remastered introduces compelling new gameplay options. These include a challenging permadeath mode, a speedrun mode for competitive players, an enhanced photo mode for capturing stunning in-game moments, and expanded accessibility features for a wider audience. A standout addition is Horde Assault, a new arcade mode where players face even larger hordes of Freakers than in the original game.

The remastered version launches on April 25, 2025. Existing PS4 owners can upgrade for just $10. A launch trailer is available below.

This PS5 release is part of Sony's initiative to bring enhanced versions of popular PS4 titles to its newer console. Days Gone Remastered joins other upgraded games like The Last of Us Part I and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.

PC players aren't left out. While Days Gone is already available on PC, Sony is offering the "Broken Roads" DLC ($10) which unlocks the new modes, enhanced photo mode, DualSense support (if applicable), and improved accessibility features for PC gamers.

A recent PlayStation Blog post provided further details. Bend Studio emphasized that the PS5 version was built from the ground up for the console, offering optimized visuals selectable between Performance and Quality modes. PS5 Pro users will experience even further enhanced visuals and audio. The DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers will also be fully utilized.
