First Deadlock update of 2025 is surprisingly small

Valve has returned from their New Year break, and game developers are once again rolling out fresh updates across various titles. After Deadlock announced a departure from its bi-weekly update schedule, fans were anticipating a substantial patch. However, Valve opted for a more relaxed approach to kick off the year.

The latest patch for Deadlock focused solely on one hero, Yamato, who received a minor nerf. This adjustment included a reduction in damage scaling and a lower attack speed bonus at the first level of Shadow Transformation. Other abilities like Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot were also weakened, and Alchemical Fire underwent a slight rework.

Given this smaller update, it's likely that we'll need to wait for a more comprehensive patch. However, predicting when that might happen is currently challenging.

It's important to highlight that Deadlock has experienced a notable decline in its player base recently. This might be attributed to the popularity of Marvel Rivals, yet maintaining a consistent online player count between 7,000 and 19,000 is quite respectable for a game still in deep beta. It's worth mentioning that Valve has not yet shared any information regarding potential release dates or the game's monetization model.
