The South Korean game rating board, GRAC, has assigned an age rating of "19+" to the much-anticipated Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. This classification stems from the game's content, which includes "excessive violence," "excessive profanity, profanity and swearing," and scenes depicting the use of various illegal substances.

In a touching gesture, Hideo Kojima, the visionary behind the game, presented flowers to actress Shiori Kutsuna to celebrate the completion of her work on Death Stranding 2. Kojima expressed his gratitude, saying, "For Shiori Kutsuna, that's it. I appreciate all of your hard work." Kutsuna's dedication was evident as she undertook motion capture in Los Angeles, 3D scanning, and voice recording in both Japanese and English across various locations, navigating the challenges of the ongoing pandemic.

Hideo Kojima's heartfelt message continued, "Fantastic work, much obliged!" It's noted that Kutsuna has been involved with the project since the fall of 2022, showcasing her commitment to the role.

At the Tokyo Game Show 2024, Kojima unveiled new materials for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, featuring several two-minute cutscenes that introduced viewers to the protagonist's allies. Among the characters highlighted were George Miller's Tarman, the captain of the mobile base Magellan, navigating tar lakes; Fatih Akin's Dollman, a living doll and former medium who has lost his human form; and the return of Léa Seydoux as Fragile.

Another intriguing character introduced was Elle Fanning's enigmatic figure named Tomorrow, discovered in a location that resembles the realm of the dead. This ties back to the original Death Stranding's tagline, "Tomorrow is in your hands."

One of the showcased cutscenes featured the characters singing the classic song "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, while interacting with a pregnant woman named Rainy, portrayed by Shiori Kutsuna.
