Console Testing for Deltarune Progresses Well

Save Data to Transition to Full Game

Toby Fox recently posted on his official Bluesky account, assuring fans that console testing for Deltarune is moving forward steadily, though significant work remains.

"Console testing continues. Bugs are fewer, but there's still plenty to tackle. (PS5 testing hasn’t started yet)," Fox noted in his update. He also revealed efforts to enable save transfers from the demo (Chapters 1 and 2) on consoles to the full game, a feature made possible by newly acquired technology. "Fingers crossed it works!"

With beta testing showing promise, the release of Chapters 3 and 4 in 2025, as confirmed by Fox on Bluesky, feels closer than ever.

New Character Tenna Teased by Fox

Despite the intense workload to polish Chapters 3 and 4, Toby Fox keeps fans engaged with playful updates. Known for his meme-heavy humor and witty self-deprecation, Fox shared a lighthearted anecdote on social media.

"I showed a Deltarune minigame to friends and family, and they called it ‘a cry for help because your game isn’t out yet,’" Fox posted last week. His family deemed it positive, while a friend laughed "for a solid 10 minutes."

Fans speculated that this minigame, given Fox’s 2024 statement that Chapters 3 and 4 are content-complete, might hint at Chapter 5. Deltarune is planned to span seven chapters in total.

Fox further stirred excitement by mentioning Tenna, a character yet to debut in Deltarune. "A friend who played Chapter 3 over a year ago said, ‘I miss Tenna,’ and I thought, ‘no one else has ever said that,’" Fox wrote. Tenna first appeared in the 2022 Spamton Sweepstakes charity event on Deltarune’s website, confirming their role in Chapter 3.
