Disco Elysium, the acclaimed detective RPG, is now available on Android in a version tailored for mobile. Originally launched on PC in 2019, it achieved major success and won numerous awards. Its deep exploration and intricate mechanics are key to its popularity.

What is the story?

In Disco Elysium, you play a detective in Revachol, a decaying city steeped in grime, competing ideologies, and shattered dreams. A murder case demands your attention, drawing you into a world of dialogue-heavy interactions and character-shaping decisions.

The game features a unique system called the Thought Cabinet, which changes your detective's worldview and introduces a chorus of internal voices representing different aspects of your psyche. You'll interrogate suspects, recite drunken poetry at karaoke, and navigate many other surreal moments.

What's new in the mobile version?

The writing remains dense and philosophical, identical to the original, with the same core story and narrative. However, the mobile edition is designed as a truly portable experience.

It operates entirely in portrait mode, featuring a new swipe-based navigation system that differs significantly from the PC controls. The flow may feel more linear, as some areas become inaccessible after you progress. Beyond the removal of scrollbars, it presents text in shorter segments and uses a static camera.

Several improvements make the mobile version more user-friendly. Publisher ZA/UM has added a 360-degree view system, helping players immerse themselves in each location.

The original voice acting is complemented by new hand-painted visuals in certain scenes, preserving the game's distinct artistic style.
