Netflix's highly anticipated Devil May Cry anime finally has a release date: April 3rd! The series, a collaboration between Castlevania showrunner Adi Shankar and the acclaimed Legend of Korra studio, Studio Mir, dropped the news—and a suitably intense teaser trailer set to Limp Bizkit—on X.

First announced in 2018, the Devil May Cry anime is confirmed for an eight-episode first season. Studio Mir, known for its work on shows like The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97, brings its animation expertise to this adaptation.

While plot specifics remain shrouded in mystery, the series appears to focus on Dante from the era of the first three Devil May Cry games, though any direct connections to the game storylines are yet to be confirmed. Interestingly, Dante will be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, who fans will recognize as the voice of Nero in the video games.

The last mainline Devil May Cry game, Devil May Cry 5, launched in 2019, marking a triumphant return for the franchise after a period of relative inactivity following 2013's DmC: Devil May Cry.
