Corinne Busche, the director of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, is reportedly departing from BioWare, an EA-owned studio.

Eurogamer reported Busche's upcoming departure, noting her tenure as game director from February 2022 until the game's launch last year. IGN has reached out to EA for comment.

The commercial success of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been a subject of speculation since its October release. Eurogamer indicated that Busche's departure is an isolated event and doesn't signal broader changes within the studio.

Busche joined BioWare in 2019, following a period at Maxis where she contributed to various The Sims projects. BioWare has confirmed that no DLC is planned for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, shifting focus instead to Mass Effect 5, a project previously teased but not yet fully unveiled.

The studio's challenges continued with approximately 50 layoffs in August 2023, coinciding with the release of Larian's Baldur's Gate 3. Notable departures included veteran narrative designer Mary Kirby. These layoffs occurred amidst broader internal restructuring at EA, effectively separating its operations into sports and non-sports divisions. Rumors of a potential BioWare acquisition circulated that summer.
