Eurogamer journalists suggest these rumors hold at least partial truth, confirming the departure of Corinne Boucher in the coming weeks. Boucher, an 18-year EA veteran, primarily worked on the Sims franchise.

However, Eurogamer remains uncertain about the alleged shutdown of The Veilguard, classifying that aspect as pure speculation.

Critical reception of The Veilguard is divided. Some hail it as a masterpiece and a return to form for BioWare, while others consider it a solid, albeit flawed, RPG, lacking true greatness.
