全新演绎桐生一马
7月26日，在圣地亚哥动漫展上，世嘉和亚马逊为《如龙》粉丝们首次展示了该游戏真人版改编剧集《如龙：如龙》。预告片展示了日本演员竹内凉真饰演的标志性人物桐生一马，以及饰演该系列主要反派锦山彰的角田健悟。RGG工作室总监横山昌义指出，以在电视剧《假面骑士Drive》中的角色而闻名的竹内凉真和角田健悟为他们的角色带来了全新的诠释。
“说实话，他们对角色的刻画与原著故事完全不同，”总监在世嘉于SDCC的采访中说道。“但这正是这部剧集的魅力所在。”横山表示，虽然游戏已经将桐生一马的角色塑造得完美无缺，但他欣赏这部剧集对这两个角色提供了新的视角。
预告片只提供了该剧集的简短片段，但粉丝们看到了标志性的地下竞技场和桐生一马与岛野富志的冲突。
根据预告片的描述，这部真人版改编剧集承诺将“描绘凶狠却充满激情的黑帮成员以及居住在巨大娱乐区神室町（一个以新宿歌舞伎町为原型的虚构区域）的人们的生活”。
这部剧集的灵感松散地来源于第一部游戏，它讲述了桐生一马及其童年朋友们的生活，向粉丝们展示了桐生一马“过去的游戏无法探索的部分”。
世嘉对横山昌义的采访
尽管粉丝们最初担心该剧集的阴暗氛围可能无法体现游戏的搞笑时刻，但横山昌义向粉丝们保证，即将上映的Prime Video剧集将捕捉“原著的精髓”。
在SDCC接受世嘉采访时，横山解释说，他对真人版改编剧集最大的担忧是“它只会是简单的模仿。相反，我希望人们能够体验《如龙》，就好像这是他们第一次接触它一样”。
“说实话，它好到让我嫉妒，”横山继续说道。“我们在20年前创造了这个设定，但他们能够使其成为他们自己的……然而，他们并没有忽略原著故事。”
看完这部剧集后，他指出，“如果你不熟悉这款游戏，它就是一个全新的世界。如果你熟悉它，你将会一直露出笑容。”他还暗示，第一集结尾会有一个让他尖叫并跳起来的重大惊喜。
预告片中并没有展示太多内容，但粉丝们不必等待太久，《如龙：如龙》将于今年10月24日在亚马逊Prime Video独家首播，前三集将同时上线。其余三集将于11月1日发布。
