Following an exciting reveal trailer, Dune: Awakening is scheduled for release on May 20th, 2025, for PC via Steam. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will follow at a later date. In the lead-up to the launch, developer Funcom has introduced the Character Creator and Benchmark Mode. This allows players to meticulously craft their character and test their PC's compatibility with the game.

With the Character Creator, you have the freedom to customize every detail of your character's appearance, choose your home planet, caste, and select a mentor or class. These characters will seamlessly transfer into the full game upon its release. As an added bonus, early character creators will receive an exclusive Frameblade knife skin, which can be redeemed at launch with a special code.

The Benchmark Sequence is designed to evaluate your PC's performance and adjust graphics settings to achieve the best possible gameplay experience. This sequence will guide you through a player-built base in the desert, then to Harko Village, the bustling Harkonnen player hub, and finally, an awe-inspiring encounter with a massive sandworm.
