Funcom has announced the worldwide release schedule for Dune: Awakening.

Drawing inspiration from Denis Villeneuve and Legendary Entertainment’s epic films, Dune: Awakening is a survival MMO set on the treacherous planet of Arrakis, offering players their first open-world exploration of this iconic world.

Survive by mastering Fremen techniques, and unlock your potential through combat, spice harvesting, construction, and trading. The game launches on June 10, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S following a three-week delay to address beta testing issues. Early access players gain a five-day head start, beginning June 5.

Recently, Funcom hosted a livestream highlighting Dune: Awakening’s mid-to-endgame content and a sweeping tour of the Hagga Basin, showcasing its vast and varied landscapes, from the verdant O’odham to the stark Hagga Rift and the striking rock formations of Jabal Eifrit. Beta players had only explored about 25% of Hagga Basin, so the stream revealed the grandeur of “these expansive and diverse terrains.”

“Even before venturing into the perilous Deep Desert, players will dive into a robust survival experience,” Funcom teased.

“They’ll climb the ranks of House Atreides or Harkonnen, construct formidable strongholds, tackle Imperial Testing Stations, craft advanced designs, explore and gather resources using various vehicles, and much more.” Additionally, the “Landsraad feature lets players shape their faction’s destiny, whether they lean toward PvE or PvP.”
