What Energy Crystals Do in R.E.P.O. and How to Get More
Conquering a level in the co-op game R.E.P.O. is a significant achievement. After your victory, a trip to the Service Station unlocks the opportunity to purchase essential upgrades, including Energy Crystals. Here's a breakdown of their function and how to acquire more.
What Are Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.?
These shiny yellow crystals, found at the Service Station after completing the first level, cost between $7,000 and $9,000. Early in the game, when difficulty is lower, they're typically cheaper, offering an ideal opportunity to stock up if you had a successful run.

Purchasing an Energy Crystal adds an Energy Container/Station to your R.E.P.O. truck. This is a game-changer, enabling you to recharge tools like the Valuables or Extraction Tracker by simply placing them inside. This significantly reduces replacement costs and saves your team money in the long run. Items are recharged by placing them in the bin next to the container—easily identifiable by its yellow lightning bolt.
Energy Crystals automatically appear in the container upon purchase. However, they have a limited lifespan and will eventually break after repeated use, requiring replacement to maintain the container's functionality. A single crystal refills roughly four battery sections of an item; six crystals fully recharge the Energy Container.
How To Get More Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.
Energy Crystals are exclusively purchased at the Service Station, but their high cost necessitates careful resource management. Maximize your loot and scavenge valuables throughout each level to ensure sufficient funds. Remember, only after successfully completing a level with enough money will the Taxman transport you to the Service Station.
During challenging levels, prioritizing survival and securing enough money to complete the level might be wiser than risking everything for extra loot.
This covers the function of Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O. and how to obtain them.
R.E.P.O. is available now on PC.
