Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi recently shared insights into the upcoming PC version of the game, addressing player curiosity about mods and the possibility of DLC. The interview, published on the Epic Games blog on December 13th, revealed some interesting details.

DLC: A Matter of Player Demand

While the development team initially considered adding episodic DLC to the PC release, resource constraints led them to prioritize completing the final installment of the Remake trilogy. Hamaguchi stated that adding new content is currently not on the agenda, but he's receptive to strong player requests. Substantial player demand could potentially influence the decision to create post-launch content.

A Message to Modders: Creativity with Responsibility

Although official mod support isn't included, Hamaguchi acknowledged the inevitable interest from the modding community. He extended a welcome to creative modding, but with a firm request to avoid offensive or inappropriate content. This responsible approach reflects the understanding that while mods can significantly enhance the gaming experience (as seen in examples like Counter-Strike), they also carry the potential for misuse.

PC Version Improvements: Enhanced Visuals and More
