Konami and FIFA's unexpected esports collaboration: The FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024 will be played on eFootball!

This surprising partnership follows years of competition between FIFA and PES. The FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024 will utilize Konami's eFootball platform.

In-Game Qualifiers on eFootball Are Live!

The tournament features Console (PS4 & PS5) and Mobile divisions. Eighteen countries are eligible for the final stages: Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey.

• October 10th-20th: Three-part in-game qualifiers.
• October 28th-November 3rd: National Nomination Phases for the 18 countries.

The offline final round will take place late 2024 (exact date unannounced). Even if your country isn't competing, you can participate in the qualifiers (up to Round 3) and earn rewards (50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP, and more).

A Surprising Turn of Events

This collaboration is ironic, given the long-standing rivalry between EA and Konami. EA's split with FIFA in 2022, reportedly due to a significant increase in licensing fees demanded by FIFA, led to the release of EA Sports FC 24. Now, FIFA has partnered with Konami.
