For Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the PS5, Square Enix has alluded to visual enhancements
The PC version of the game boasts superior visuals and stability compared to its PS5 counterpart, prompting community discussions about a much-needed PS5 update. The PS5 version, particularly in performance mode, suffers from blurry graphics, leaving base console owners with little choice but to await patches. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi acknowledges the player feedback and suggests that improvements are feasible, stating, "Following the PC version's promotional release, we've received numerous requests for a similar PS5 update, and we aim to deliver this eventually, within the PS5's technical constraints."
Fans eagerly anticipate Square Enix's response to these requests for enhanced console visuals.
While the team is fully engaged in developing the sequel, Hamaguchi requests patience, promising further details at a later date. He highlights 2024 as a successful year for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second game in the trilogy, citing global acclaim and numerous awards. The third installment presents unique challenges as the developers strive to expand the game's fanbase. Interestingly, Hamaguchi also notes his interest in Grand Theft Auto VI, expressing support for the Rockstar Games team and acknowledging the immense pressure they face following GTA V's phenomenal success.
