Genshin Impact Leak Suggests Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4

A recent leak hints at a potential return of the Cryo Catalyst character, Wriothesley, in Genshin Impact's Version 5.4. This would mark his first rerun after a year-long absence since his debut in Version 4.1. The game's extensive roster of over 90 playable characters presents a significant scheduling challenge, making fair rerun distribution difficult. With limited banner slots and a high demand for character reruns, many characters face extended wait times.

While the introduction of the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate this issue, its effectiveness remains debatable. Shenhe's lengthy wait time before her rerun highlights the ongoing problem. Until the developers implement triple banners, extended waits between character reruns are likely to persist.

Wriothesley's absence has been particularly notable. His unique Cryo hypercarry capabilities and strong performance in Burnmelt teams have made him highly sought after. According to leaker Flying Flame, this will change with Version 5.4. However, it's important to note that Flying Flame's track record is mixed, so this information should be treated cautiously. The recent Spiral Abyss buff, which benefits Wriothesley's playstyle, lends some credibility to the rumor.

Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured on Event Banners, the remaining spot might feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive a rerun within the established Archon rerun sequence. Version 5.4 is tentatively scheduled for February 12, 2025.
