Sucker Punch Productions will unveil a detailed Ghost of Yōtei gameplay showcase at a dedicated State of Play event next month.

A commitment to reveal more about the eagerly awaited samurai sequel’s refined mechanics was shared in a PlayStation Blog post following the June 2025 State of Play event. The Ghost of Tsushima sequel made a brief appearance toward the end of the showcase, serving as a reminder that Sucker Punch is diligently working toward its October launch.

Though Ghost of Yōtei’s fleeting appearance may have left fans wanting more, the upcoming July State of Play gameplay showcase promises to ease the anticipation. While no specific date for Sucker Punch’s event has been confirmed, it will center entirely on Ghost of Yōtei, highlighting its advanced gameplay mechanics, including exploration, combat, and beyond.

Sucker Punch officially revealed the Ghost of Tsushima sequel last September, introducing players to Atsu, the new protagonist, as she navigates a gripping journey through Japan in 1603. Despite the long wait for story and gameplay details since the original game’s 2020 release, director Nate Fox assures that the sequel will offer "a respectful portrayal" of Japan, much like its predecessor.
