Santa Monica Studio, the acclaimed developer behind the God of War franchise, is reportedly working on a new, unannounced project. Hints of this new IP come from Glauco Longhi, a character artist and game developer who recently rejoined the studio.

Glauco Longhi's New Role

Longhi, a veteran of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök, updated his LinkedIn profile to reveal his involvement in an "unannounced project," where he's overseeing character development. His profile states he's "Supervising/Directing Character development" and assisting the studio in raising the bar for character development in video games.

Expanding Team, Sci-Fi Speculation

This news, coupled with Cory Barlog's (director of God of War 2018) earlier comments about the studio working on multiple projects and their recent recruitment efforts (including for character artists and tools programmers), fuels speculation. Rumors suggest the new IP might be a sci-fi title, potentially under the direction of Stig Asmussen (God of War 3 creative director). While Sony's trademark of "Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet" adds to the intrigue, no official confirmation exists. Previous rumors of a cancelled PS4 sci-fi project from the studio further fuel this speculation. However, until an official announcement is made, these remain just that – rumors.
