THQ Nordic has also announced that a free demo of the Gothic 1 Remake will be available starting February 24. This demo, built on Unreal Engine 5, will feature Niras' prologue. Unlike the main game, this demo is designed as a standalone experience, aimed at showcasing the world, mechanics, and atmosphere of the remake. Players will step into the shoes of Niras, a convict sent to the Colony, and will have the freedom to explore the environment at their own pace. This demo serves as a prequel to the events of Gothic 1, offering players a deeper understanding of the backdrop to the Nameless Hero's legendary journey.
