In a recent interview with GTAVIoclock, former Rockstar Games developer Ben Hinchliffe shared his perspective on the upcoming GTA 6. Having contributed to several Rockstar titles, including GTA 6, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and L.A. Noire, Hinchliffe offers a unique insider's view.Hinchliffe expressed his excitement about GTA 6's evolution, highlighting the significant advancements in content and storyline since his departure. He emphasized the game's transformation from his last involvement to its anticipated final version.
Rockstar Games unveiled the official GTA 6 trailer last year, showcasing the new protagonists, the Vice City setting, and a glimpse into the crime-filled narrative. Scheduled for an autumn 2025 release exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, details have been scarce. However, Hinchliffe confirmed that GTA 6 represents a significant leap forward for Rockstar Games.
He pointed to the consistent evolution of realism in Rockstar's games, suggesting that GTA 6 continues this trend. "Every element feels more realistic," he stated, referencing improved character behavior and interactions. He confidently asserted that Rockstar has "raised the bar again."
Hinchliffe's comments suggest extensive post-production refinement and optimization since his departure three years ago. He indicated that Rockstar is likely focused on bug fixing and performance enhancements during the final development stages.
Regarding fan reaction, Hinchliffe predicted an overwhelmingly positive response, particularly emphasizing the game's realism. He anticipates strong sales and widespread excitement, stating, "It will blow people away. It will sell an absolute ton." He expressed his own eagerness for players to experience the game firsthand.
