MindsEye developer Build A Rocket Boy has unveiled a fresh trailer, confirmed its $59.99 pricing, and detailed exactly what players will experience at launch.

Under the leadership of former Rockstar North veteran Leslie Benzies, Build A Rocket Boy announced MindsEye will launch on June 10, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Set in the futuristic city of Redrock, MindsEye features a tightly designed linear story campaign. Players assume the role of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier tormented by fragmented memories from his mysterious MindsEye neural implant, as he uncovers a conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate greed, a rogue military, and a threat so profound it jeopardizes all of humanity. The game’s narrative is powered by stunning visuals built on Unreal Engine 5.

Perhaps even more compelling is MindsEye’s PC-exclusive game creation system, which allows users to build their own experiences using all of the game's assets.

The studio describes the $59.99 price as “a refreshing change from the usual $70–$80 AAA cost.” But what exactly does that $60 get you?

At launch, players get the “carefully crafted linear story campaign,” a “single-player free roam” mode, plus several missions: a horde mode titled “Destruction Site Shootout,” and two combat missions (“Honor Amongst Thieves” and “Friendly Fire”). Also included are six standard races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races. Premium Pass holders receive an additional horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics pack.

Video game pricing remains a major industry topic after Nintendo moved to $80 for Mario Kart World and Microsoft’s plans to adopt $80 pricing this holiday. Other companies are expected to follow suit, with titles like Gearbox’s Borderlands 4 at the center of pricing debates following controversial remarks from Randy Pitchford.

Meanwhile, several mid-range games have found huge success at the $50 price point, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. 2K's upcoming Mafia: The Old Country will also launch at $50. MindsEye appears positioned between these pricing tiers.

So that covers launch—but what comes next? Build A Rocket Boy promises a “steady stream” of new premium content every month, “making MindsEye a living, ever-expanding player experience.” This includes additional missions, challenges, and in-game assets. “The ongoing release of studio-created content, combined with the community's most impressive creations, means MindsEye will continue to surprise and delight players for years to come,” the studio added.

Build A Rocket Boy also outlined its 2025 content roadmap. Summer will bring community updates and new missions; fall introduces new single-player modes, multiplayer, and further missions; winter will expand free roam and add more missions. Premium Pass owners gain access to extra missions and new packs throughout the year.
