The Pokemon Company shattered the current Guinness World Record for the longest unboxing livestream on November 26, 2024. This marathon event celebrated the launch of the latest Pokemon TCG expansion, Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks.

The livestream, hosted on Pokemon's Twitch channel, featured renowned internet personalities such as Joe Merrick of Serebii, and social media influencers PokeGirl Ranch and Mayplaystv. Together, they opened 1,500 booster packs and unwrapped various other Pokemon products. By the end of the 24-hour session, they had amassed over 20,000 cards, as reported on Pokemon's Official Press website.

Peter Murphy, Senior Director of Marketing at The Pokemon Company International, expressed immense pride in this achievement. "It’s been an incredible 24 hours of pack opening, and we’re thrilled to have achieved such an ambitious GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title alongside an amazing team of content creators," he stated.

The excitement doesn't end here. The Pokemon’s Official Press website teased fans to stay tuned for more product giveaways on content creators' channels over the next two weeks.

The cards collected during the marathon will be organized into binders and donated to charities, including Barnardo’s in the UK, ahead of the holiday season.
