How to Use Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia
Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Ghostly Conquest
In Phasmophobia, conquering the most elusive ghosts often requires utilizing risky but rewarding Cursed Possessions. The Haunted Mirror stands out as a particularly useful, yet manageable, Cursed Object. This guide explains its function and use.

The Haunted Mirror offers a significant advantage with minimal risk, making it a highly recommended item if encountered. Its function remains consistent across game updates: it reveals the ghost's preferred room on the map, providing a panoramic view. This significantly speeds up ghost location, allowing for strategic equipment placement before the investigation becomes perilous.
The Mirror's location is predetermined for each map, typically found hanging on a wall or on the floor. However, the type of Cursed Object that spawns is randomized.
To use it, pick up the mirror and interact with it using the designated button (mouse or controller). The reflection will display the ghost's current haunt. On Professional difficulty or higher, remember the ghost's location can change after a time.
Caution: prolonged viewing depletes sanity. Holding it for the entire duration shatters the mirror, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your location. Use it wisely when sanity is high and you're prepared to interpret the reflection.
Understanding Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia
Cursed Possessions, or Cursed Objects, are unique items spawning randomly across maps (depending on difficulty and Challenge Mode). Unlike standard equipment, which safely gathers evidence, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts to manipulate the ghost, but at a considerable risk.
The risk varies between objects, leaving the decision of usage to the player(s). There's no penalty for ignoring them. Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).
Seven Cursed Objects exist:
- Summoning Circle
- Haunted Mirror
- Voodoo Doll
- Music Box
- Tarot Cards
- Ouija Board
- Monkey Paw
