Melpot Studio has released the first trailer for its upcoming figure skating simulation game, ICE on the Edge, launching on PC via Steam in 2026. This innovative game blends vibrant anime-inspired visuals with incredibly realistic skating choreography, created in partnership with professional figure skaters.
In ICE on the Edge, you become a coach, mentoring skaters and guiding their careers. Your responsibilities include designing breathtaking performance routines, selecting the perfect music, creating stunning costumes, and choosing the technical elements that will set your skaters apart. Your ultimate goal? Lead your athletes to victory at the prestigious fictional competition, On the Edge. The game's choreography boasts the expertise of renowned Japanese figure skater Akiko Suzuki, who also contributed to the anime series Medalist.
Remarkably, the developers embarked on this project with limited figure skating knowledge. However, their commitment to authenticity shines through. They immersed themselves in the sport, mastering everything from the intricacies of different jumps to the complexities of the scoring system, resulting in a truly immersive and believable experience.
