New Images and Details Revealed for Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris
Exciting news for Disney fans: The Lion King ride is set to make its debut at Disneyland Paris with construction kicking off in Fall 2025. As shared by Disney Parks Blog, this groundbreaking attraction will be a centerpiece of the newly reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. This thrilling water ride will take guests on a journey through the most iconic scenes of the beloved 1994 film, featuring a 120-foot-high Pride Rock and an array of dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greet experiences.
Disney has released a captivating concept image of the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle environment. This scene is just one highlight of an adventure that includes a dramatic 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure. While an exact opening date remains under wraps, the ride will follow the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026, contributing to the expansive transformation of Disney Adventure World, which will double the current park's size.
The Lion King ride is just one part of an exciting lineup at Disney Adventure World. Alongside World of Frozen and the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, where Mandy Moore will reprise her role as Rapunzel, guests can also look forward to the first-ever attraction themed after Up. This new "spinning carousel" promises a breathtaking "bird's eye view" of the park's stunning landscapes.
Adding to the allure of Disney Adventure World, the World Premiere entrance will open on May 15, 2025, aiming to recreate the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. The adjacent World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will feature theaters hosting shows such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
