NBC Universal has unveiled the climactic trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth, showcasing pivotal moments and offering fresh glimpses of both familiar prehistoric creatures and newly designed dinosaurs.

Starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, Jurassic World Rebirth follows an elite extraction team venturing to Earth's most treacherous location - a secretive research base from the original Jurassic Park now overrun by genetically modified monstrosities. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) with a screenplay by original Jurassic Park writer David Koepp.

Official synopsis:

Half a decade after Jurassic World Dominion, Earth's climate has become hostile to dinosaurs. Surviving specimens now inhabit isolated equatorial zones resembling their prehistoric habitats. Three apex predators - terrestrial, aquatic and aerial - carry revolutionary genetic material that could unlock groundbreaking medical advancements for humanity.

Academy Award-nominated Johansson portrays covert operations specialist Zora Bennett, tasked with retrieving this genetic treasure. When her mission collides with shipwrecked civilians fleeing predatory marine reptiles, they find themselves trapped on a forbidden island housing Jurassic Park's abandoned research facilities. There, amidst diverse dinosaur populations, they uncover a decades-old conspiracy with global implications.

The trailer features several key elements, including the river raft sequence from Michael Crichton's original Jurassic Park novel. Screenwriter Koepp recently discussed adapting unused material from the source material: "We finally incorporated that unforgettable novel sequence we originally omitted due to time constraints - this was our golden opportunity," Koepp explained.

New creatures showcased include the 'D-Rex' (Distortus Rex), a terrifying hybrid combining T-Rex characteristics with Star Wars' Rancor. Edwards described it as: "Imagine H.R. Giger redesigned the T-Rex, then bred it with a Rancor."

The trailer also introduces winged Mutadons, which Koepp characterizes as "pterosaur-Raptor hybrids."
