Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: Denuvo DRM Excised

Warhorse Studios confirms: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD2) will launch DRM-free. Contrary to circulating rumors, the medieval action-RPG will not utilize any digital rights management (DRM) technology, including Denuvo.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: No DRM Confirmed
Rumors of KCD2 DRM Integration are False
Following player speculation, Warhorse Studios' PR head, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, definitively stated during a recent Twitch stream that KCD2 will be completely devoid of DRM. He addressed the widespread misinformation and urged players to cease inquiries about Denuvo's inclusion. Stolz-Zwilling emphasized that the studio never confirmed the use of any DRM and that any information to the contrary is inaccurate. He pleaded with fans to stop repeatedly asking about DRM in their comments.
Concerns about DRM's potential impact on game performance, particularly Denuvo's perceived negative effects, have fueled player anxieties. Denuvo, while functioning as anti-piracy software, has faced criticism for allegedly causing performance issues and even rendering games unplayable in some instances. Denuvo's product manager, Andreas Ullmann, has attributed this negative perception to misinformation and confirmation bias, characterizing the backlash as excessively toxic.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is slated for release in February 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Set in medieval Bohemia, the game follows Henry, a blacksmith apprentice, as he confronts the devastating destruction of his village. Players who contributed at least $200 to the KCD2 Kickstarter campaign will receive a free copy of the game.
